Despite the temporary suspension of orders in the global shipbuilding sector due to the coronavirus pandemic, some shipyards are successfully returning to the previous level of orders and entering new projects. For example, construction of three modern expedition vessels for exploring the waters of the Arctic and Antarctic is beginning at a Finnish shipyard in Helsinki.

Helsinki Shipyard Oy has entrusted Litana group of companies with responsible work on assembling and welding grand blocks in the dock. At the end of September, a contract was signed for the execution of these works, and in mid-October, Litana group specialists team began work on the site. The order is scheduled to be completed in February next year.

Managing Director of Litana Finland Oy Evgenij Masaliov states: „We are very happy that the shipyard, with which we have previously collaborated, trusts us with its projects in the field of cruise shipbuilding. This order is extremely important for us, as Litana group has never participated in the construction of ice-class cruise ships before.”
