Litana Group is involved in the largest Swedish metro expansion project in the last 40 years. Preparatory work is currently being finalised and construction work on site will start in April. Litana Group specialists are contributing to the construction of two new underground metro stations, Barkarbystaden and Barkarby. The stations will be located 30 metres deep and have single-level platforms with rails on both sides. The scope of the project includes the installation of technical room infrastructure, ventilation chambers and shafts, connecting tunnels and the manufacture and installation of metal structures, suspended ceilings and metal stairs. A total of 5 200 m² of technical space will be provided. The project will involve the excavation of 710 000 m³ of rock, the pouring of 32 000 m³ of concrete and, by 2030, the Barkarbystaden station will be able to serve around 2 800 passengers during peak hours.
